About Us

Origins of ASEI
The American Society of Engineers of Indian Origin (ASEI) was founded in 1983 by Mr. Hari Bindal to facilitate technology exchange between the U.S. and India. The organisation formally incorporated in 1983 and grew rapidly, establishing chapters across the country.

Evolution
ASEI expanded from a professional networking society to an organisation that hosts national conventions, recognises outstanding engineers and entrepreneurs, offers career guidance and mentoring, and provides student scholarships. It has awarded scholarships and accolades to hundreds of students and professionals.

Why a Foundation?
To scale its philanthropic impact, ASEI created the ASEI Foundation as a separate 501(c)(3) entity. While ASEI National focuses on professional development and networking, the Foundation concentrates on raising funds, awarding scholarships, and supporting humanitarian and educational projects. This separation ensures transparency and compliance for donors.
